After being out and about yesterday afternoon, we came home and thought the squirrel was being quiet. I looked into the fireplace with a flashlight and lo and behold......NO SQUIRREL!!!
I knew the little bugger couldn't get out into the house, so we figured he either found his way out (who knew the dumbass had it in him) or he climbed up onto the flume and died.
Kurt started a fire in the fireplace to see if the squirrel would come down, but nothing happened. We figured it was dead.
WRONG!!
We look out in our backyard today and what do we see? That squirrel digging in our plants!! LOL I'm beginning to think that squirrel liked it in our fireplace.
Tomorrow our landlord is coming to put a mesh cage over the top of our chimney so hopefully this doofus of a squirrel stays out!

well, at least the scratching is gone! Glad the little bugger is out of your fireplace. That would have given me the creeps!
